Lionel Messi’s current agent is still his father, Jorge Messi. But according to FIFA’s new regulations, La Pulga will likely have to change representatives.

Messi left PSG to join Inter Milan in the 2023 Summer transfer window. He immediately shined helping the team win the Leagues Cup – the first title in the club’s history.

Despite only signing with the MLS team a few months ago, Messi could be loaned out in the near future. The MLS season is expected to end at the end of this month and will only return in February next year. Currently, Barca and clubs in Saudi Arabia are trying to get Messi, even if only in the short term.

Any transfer that is to come true, Messi’s father, Jorge, is expected to be at the center of negotiations over his son’s future.

However, according to Spanish newspaper Marca, FIFA’s new regulations may make it impossible for Messi to continue letting his father represent him. FIFA stipulates that the player’s representative must have a clear operating license. Meanwhile, Mr. Jorge does not have any operating license yet.

This 65-year-old man has taken care of the professional career of the seven-time Golden Ball winner from the time he was a kid until he was a famous player at the age of 36.

However, if Messi does not move to another club, Mr. Jorge probably does not need an agent’s license to operate.
